引言:“微波光子学”研究光波与微波在媒质中的相互作用及光域产生、操控和变换微波信号的理论与方法。该领域结合了微波技术和光子技术的各自优势,具有带宽大、速度快、并行处理能力强、损耗低、重量轻、快速可重构及抗电磁干扰等优势特点,可实现宽带微波信号的产生、传输、控制、测量与处理,在无线通信、仪器仪表、航空航天及国防等领域具有重要的应用前景。


Topic overview
Microwave photonics is an interdisciplinary research area, which studies the interaction between lightwave and microwave in a medium, as well as the theory and method of generation, manipulation, and transformation of microwave signals based on optics. The field combines the advantage of microwave and photonics, which results in large bandwidth, high speed, and parallel processing capacity as well as low dissipation, lightweight, rapid reconfigurability, and high electromagnetic interference immunity. These features help to achieve generation, processing, transmission, and measurement of broadband signals. Microwave photonics shines a significant prospect on wireless communication, instrumentation, Aeronautics and Astronautics, and defense science and technology.          
This issue focuses on innovative breakthroughs in microwave photonics related to the generation, processing, transmission, and measurement of microwave photonic signals. Applications of microwave photonics on commutation, radar, electronic warfare, etc. are also covered.
