  • Evidence of Two Resonant Structures in e+e- →π+π-hc

    • 摘要:

      The cross sections of e+e-→π+π-hc at center-of-mass energies from 3.896 to 4.600 GeV are measured using data samples collected with the BESIII detector operating at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider. The cross sections are found to be of the same order of magnitude as those of e+e-→π+π-J/ψ and e+e-→π+π-ψ(2S), but the line shape is inconsistent with the Y states observed in the latter two modes. Two structures are observed in the e+e-→π+π-hc cross sections around 4.22 and 4.39 GeV/c2, which we call Y(4220) and Y(4390), respectively. A fit with a coherent sum of two Breit-Wigner functions results in a mass of (4218.4-4.5+5.5±0.9) MeV/c2 and a width of (66.0-8.3+12.3±0.4) MeV for the Y(4220), and a mass of (4391.5-6.8+6.3±1.0) MeV/c2 and a width of (139.5-20.6+16.2±0.6) MeV for the Y(4390), where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second ones systematic. The statistical significance of Y(4220) and Y(4390) is 10σ over one structure assumption.

  • First measurement of e+e- →p KS0 n ̄ K-+ c. c. above open charm threshold

      The process e+e-→pKS0n̄K-+c.c. and its intermediate processes are studied for the first time, using data samples collected with the BESIII detector at BEPCII at center-of-mass energies of 3.773, 4.008, 4.226, 4.258, 4.358, 4.416, and 4.600 GeV, with a total integrated luminosity of 7.4 fb-1. The Born cross section of e+e-→pKS0n̄K-+c.c. is measured at each center-of-mass energy, but no significant resonant structure in the measured cross-section line shape between 3.773 and 4.600 GeV is observed. No evident structure is detected in the pK-, nKS0, pKS0, nK+, pn̄, or KS0K- invariant mass distributions except for Λ(1520). The Born cross sections of e+e-→Λ(1520)n̄KS0+c.c. and e+e-→Λ(1520)p̄K++c.c. are measured, and the 90% confidence level upper limits on the Born cross sections of e+e-→Λ(1520)Λ̄(1520) are determined at the seven center-of-mass energies. There is an evident difference in line shape and magnitude of the measured cross sections between e+e-→Λ(1520)(→pK-)n̄KS0 and e+e-→pK-Λ̄(1520)(→n̄KS0).

  • Observation of χc2 →η′η′ and χc0,2 →ηη′

      Using a sample of 448.1×106 ψ(3686) events collected with the BESIII detector in 2009 and 2012, we study the decays χc0,2→η′η′ and ηη′. The decays χc2→η′η′, χc0→ηη′ and χc2→ηη′ are observed for the first time with statistical significances of 9.6σ, 13.4σ and 7.5σ, respectively. The branching fractions are determined to be B(χc0→η′η′)=(2.19±0.03±0.14)×10-3, B(χc2→η′η′)=(4.76±0.56±0.38)×10-5, B(χc0→ηη′)=(8.92±0.84±0.65)×10-5 and B(χc2→ηη′)=(2.27±0.43±0.25)×10-5, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. The precision for the measurement of B(χc0→η′η′) is significantly improved compared to previous measurements. Based on the measured branching fractions, the role played by the doubly and singly Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka disconnected transition amplitudes for χc0,2 decays into pseudoscalar meson pairs can be clarified.

  • Measurements of weak decay asymmetries of Λ+c → pK0s, Λπ+, Σ+ π0, and Σ0π+

      Using e+e- → Λ+cΛ-c production from a 567 pb-1 data sample collected by BESIII at 4.6 GeV, a full angular analysis is carried out simultaneously on the four decay modes of Λ+c → pK0S, Λπ+, Σ+π0, and Σ0π+. For the first time, the Λ+c transverse polarization is studied in unpolarized e+e- collisions, where a nonzero effect is observed with a statistical significance of 2.1σ. The decay asymmetry parameters of the Λ+c weak hadronic decays into pK0S, Λπ+, Σ+π0 and Σ0π+ are measured to be 0.18 ± 0.43(stat) ± 0.14(syst), -0.80 ± 0.11(stat) ± 0.02(syst), -0.57 ± 0.10(stat) ± 0.07(syst), and -0.73 ± 0.17(stat) ± 0.07(syst), respectively. In comparison with previous results, the measurements for the Λπ+ and Σ+π0 modes are consistent but with improved precision, while the parameters for the pK0S and Σ0π+ modes are measured for the first time.

  • Observation of a broad 1 - Resonant structure around 1.5GeV/c2 in the K+K- Mass spectrum in J/ψ → K+K-π0

    • 摘要:

      A broad peak is observed at low K+K- invariant mass in J/ψ → K+K-π0 decays found in a sample of 5.8 × 107 J/ψ events collected with the BESII detector. The statistical significance of the broad resonance is much larger than 5. A partial wave analysis shows that the JPC of this structure is 1 - . Its pole position is determined to be [1576-55+49(stat)-91+98(syst)] MeV/c2-i2[818-23+22(stat)-133+64(syst)]MeV/c2. These parameters are not compatible with any known meson resonances.

  • Branching fraction measurements of χc0 and χc2 to π0π0 and ηη

      Using a sample of 1.06×108 ψ decays collected by the BESIII detector, χc0 and χc2 decays into π0π0 and ηη are studied. The branching fraction results are Br(χc0→π 0π0)=(3.23±0.03±0.23±0.14)×10-3, Br(χc2→π0π0)=(8.8±0.2±0.6±0.4)×10 -4, Br(χc0→ηη)=(3.44±0.10±0. 24±0.2)×10-3, and Br(χc2→ηη)=(6. 5±0.4±0.5±0.3)×10-4, where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic due to this measurement, and systematic due to the branching fractions of ψ→ γχcJ. The results provide information on the decay mechanism of χc states into pseudoscalars.

  • Measurements of the observed cross sections for e+ e- → exclusive light hadrons containing KS0 meson at sqrt(s) = 3.773 and 3.650 GeV

      By analyzing the data sets of 17.3 pb-1 taken at sqrt(s) = 3.773   GeV and of 6.5 pb-1 taken at sqrt(s) = 3.650   GeV with the BES-II detector at the BEPC collider, we measure the observed cross sections for the exclusive light hadron final states of KS0 K- π+, KS0 K- π+ π0, KS0 K- π+ π+ π-, KS0 K- π+ π+ π- π0, KS0 K- π+ π+ π+ π- π- and KS0 K- π+ π0 π0 produced in e+ e- annihilation at the two energy points. We set the upper limits on the observed cross sections and the branching fractions for ψ (3770) decay to these final states at 90% C.L.

  • Observation of χcJ decaying into the pp̄K +K- final state

    • 摘要:

      First measurements of the decays of the three χcJ states to pp̄K+K- final states are presented. Intermediate η →K+K- and Λ(1520)→pK- resonance states are observed, and branching fractions for χ cJ→p̄K+Λ(1520), Λ(1520) Λ̄(1520), and η pp̄ are reported. We also measure branching fractions for direct χcJ→pp̄K+K- decays. These are first observations of χcJ decays to unstable baryon resonances and provide useful information about the χcJ states. The experiment uses samples of χcJ mesons produced via radiative transitions from 106×106 ψ mesons collected in the BESIII detector at the BEPCII e+e- collider.

  • Direct measurement of the branching fraction for the decay of D+ → K̄0e+νe and determination of Γ(D0 → K-e+νe)/ Γ(D+ → K̄0e+νe

    • 摘要:

      The absolute branching fraction for the decay D+→K̄ 0e+νe is determined using 5321±149±160 singly tagged D- event sample from the data collected around 3.773 GeV with the BES-II detector at the BEPC collider. In the system recoiling against the singly tagged D- mesons, 34.4±6.1 events for D+→K̄0e +νe are observed. Those yield the absolute branching fraction to be BF(D+→K̄0e+ν e)=(8.95±1.59±0.67)%. The ratio of the two partial widths for the decays of D0→K-e+ν e and D+→K̄0e+ν e is determined to be Γ(D0→K-e +νe) /Γ(D+→K̄0e+νe)=1. 08±0.22±0.07.

  • Study of χcJ radiative decays into a vector meson

      The decays χcJ→γV (V=φ, ρ0, ω) are studied with a sample of radiative ψ→γχ cJ events in a sample of (1.06±0.04) ×108ψ events collected with the BESIII detector. The branching fractions are determined to be: B(χc1→γ φ)=(25.8±5.2±2.3)×10-6, B(χ c1→γρ0)=(228±13±22)×10 -6, and B(χc1→γω)=(69.7±7. 2±6.6)×10-6. The decay χ c1→γφ is observed for the first time. Upper limits at the 90% confidence level on the branching fractions for χc0 and χc2 decays into these final states are determined. In addition, the fractions of the transverse polarization component of the vector meson in χc1→γV decays are measured to be 0.29-0.12-0.09+0. 13+0.10 for χc1→γ φ, 0.158±0.034-0.014+0. 015 for χc1→γρ0, and 0.247-0.087-0.026+0.090+0.044 for χc1→γω, respectively. The first errors are statistical and the second ones are systematic.
