  • High-dimensional Quantum Teleportation, 12-photon Entanglement and Scattershot Boson Sampling based on Spontaneous Parametric Down-Conversion

      We experimentally realize the first high-dimensional quantum teleportation experiment, and proposed a general method for teleporting n-dimensional photon. We developed an optimal SPDC entangled photon-pair source, and implement 12-photon entanglement and scattershot boson sampling.

  • Experimental quantum computing to solve systems of linear equations

      Solving linear systems of equations is ubiquitous in all areas of science and engineering. With rapidly growing data sets, such a task can be intractable for classical computers, as the best known classical algorithms require a time proportional to the number of variables N. A recently proposed quantum algorithm shows that quantum computers could solve linear systems in a time scale of order logaexcl;(N), giving an exponential speedup over classical computers. Here we realize the simplest instance of this algorithm, solving 2×2 linear equations for various input vectors on a quantum computer. We use four quantum bits and four controlled logic gates to implement every subroutine required, demonstrating the working principle of this algorithm.

  • Enhancing sensitivity of lateral flow assay with application to SARS-CoV-2

      Lateral flow assay (LFA) has long been used as a biomarker detection technique. It has advantages such as low cost, rapid readout, portability, and ease of use. However, its qualitative readout process and lack of sensitivity are limiting factors. We report a photon-counting approach to accurately quantify LFAs while enhancing sensitivity. In particular, we demonstrate that the density of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies can be quantified and measured with an enhanced sensitivity using this simple laser optical analysis.

  • Towards quantum computing and quantum networking with solid-state single spins and single photons

      Abstact: I will describe our recent experiments on robust and deterministic generation of single photons from single quantum dots with near-unity indistinguishability, Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger-type spin-photon entanglement and quantum state transfer between single photons and single spins.

  • Hemodynamics simulation of the intracranial bifurcation vessel with different shape

      Based on the intracranial artery bifurcation vessel model with different shape, using the finite element method and the basic principles of hemodynamics, we considered the geometry of the vessel how to influence vascular blood flow. Through experiment, we mainly analyzed the value of blood velocity and wall pressure, and compared the difference of hemodynamic parameters in Y-shaped and T-shaped tube. Finally, we found that the blood flow in tube associate with the shape of branch vessels. This will provide the theoretical basis to the hemodynamics of the real vessel.

  • Optical nondestructive controlled-NOT gate without using entangled photons

      We present and experimentally demonstrate a novel optical nondestructive controlled-NOT gate without using entangled ancilla. With much fewer measurements compared with quantum process tomography, we get a good estimation of the gate fidelity. The result shows a great improvement compared with previous experiments. Moreover, we also show that quantum parallelism is achieved in our gate and the performance of the gate cannot be reproduced by local operations and classical communications.

  • Ultra-low noise upconversion single-photon detector in the telecom band

    • 摘要:

      We demonstrate upconversion single-photon detection for the 1550-nm band using a PPLN waveguide, long-wavelength pump, and narrowband filtering. We achieve total-system detection efficiency of 30% with noise at the dark-count level of a silicon APD.

  • Enhanced silicon single-photon avalanche diode based on light trapping

      We present a nano-structured light-trapping Si SPAD with improved detection efficiency, without sacrificing jitter distribution or dark count rate. The design can be adopted for CMOS-compatible SPAD image sensors and silicon photomultipliers.

  • Practical scheme for entanglement concentration

      A practical scheme for purification of pure nonmaximally entangled states was presented based on the Schmidt projection method and the principle of quantum erasure. The method of quantum erasure was used to produce a conditional four-particle maximally entangled state. Schmidt projection measurements were performed onto one of the two photons at each location. The remaining two photons were projected onto a maximally entangled state.

  • High-fidelity entanglement swapping

    • 摘要:

      In quantum teleportation, one of two parties wants to send the other a quantum state using some independent carrier. Entanglement swapping is the use of quantum teleportation to transmit a quantum state which is already entangled in some other state such that the entanglement that existed between the original particle and its partner is transferred to the output particle. It is shown that qubit teleportation using polarization-entangled photon pairs can produce the desired correlations. Using a Bell inequality, the quality of any teleportation procedure can be assessed.
